Color Trends for 2025

Color trend predictions for 2025 have been making the rounds for a couple of weeks, and, as usual, there will be slightly differing predictions. We've been waiting to see which the most popular ones are before attempting to report on what those colors will most likely be in 2025. According to the design websites we visited, the leading colors are rich dark browns, bright yellows, and musty blues and greens.

Pantone is who many designers like to take their cues from. The primary color Pantone is feeling for 2025 is Mocha Mousse (17-1230). Their color of the year is meant to be a snapshot of what's happening in the world and what's reoccurring in everyday life. It's a color expected to resonate worldwide and reflect what people seek and feel they need. To arrive at this decision, Pantone considers many factors, including:

  • Socio-economic conditions

  • New technologies

  • Social media platforms

  • The year's mood

  • Travel destinations

  • New lifestyles

VistaPrint's prediction is similarly guided, and their first choice of color is also moody. They've gone with Dark and Mossy. This is also an earth tone but it's in dark green tones. Their runner-up is also brown and paired with a musty aquatic blue. They call this combination "two-tone riverbed."

Their third color to go with these is canary yellow.

While other color experts, such as Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore added to Pantone's Mocha Mousse, most are in agreement that 2025 will be the year of dark earth tones. What you will find on their websites echo browns, yellows, and moody greens:
