Jacob Bracey, Musician

Continuing with a series on Creativity in the DNA of Off The Wall

Jacob Bracey, a project manager for Off The Wall, has performed on a stage nearly every weekend for over 17 years.

His musical journey began at the age of eight when his father gifted him a guitar and arranged for his first lessons.

However, Jake soon took charge and mostly taught himself to play after that. His first public performance was at age 13 at a high school talent show. By the time he was 16, Jake was performing professionally.

But that was just on weekends. Growing up, Jake worked in his family’s cabinet-making business, honing his skills in millwork.  Jake graduated from Rutgers with a degree in journalism.  He wrote for various magazines and newspapers for awhile but kept feeling a pull toward construction.  This prompted him to return to school for a second degree in construction estimating and project management from San Diego State.

Throughout this journey, Jake's career never overshadowed his musical ambitions. He dedicated time to writing and recording his own compositions, accompanying himself on guitar, piano, and harmonica.

Millwork for Oakley by Off The Wall

This week, Jake marks his third year working for Off The Wall, managing projects for Oakley, Greg Norman, Petfolk, Boll & Branch, Amplifon of Canada, and Miracle Ear.

He will also be found playing at a local bar somewhere on the East Coast in the Tri-State area.
