Jake Hoyle Going to the 2021 Olympics

Jake Hoyle, son of Off The Wall's Vice President of Production, Charlie Hoyle, is going to the Olympics! One of the very few men on the US team to ever win two medals on the World Cup Circuit, Jake will be part of the team representing the United States in fencing.

Hoyle began fencing when he was about 11 years old and continued until 2012 when he joined the Columbia University fencing team. Fencing for the NCAA, he went on to become a two-time individual Champion. As captain of his team he also led them to back-to-back NCAA national titles. Jake graduated in 2016 with Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Business Management.

Hoyle continued competing internationally for Team USA after graduation, at one time ranking as high as 7th in the world. His two bronze medals were won in the 2018-19 season. His team was also at the 2018 Pan American Championships that took the Gold in 2018 and Silver in 2019 for national titles.

Jake’s wins during the 2018-2019 seasons made him the 10th best fencing champ in the world and put him in the running for Olympic team qualifications this year. His performance secured a place for him on the 2021 Olympic Team.

Off The Wall is very proud to know Jake and his father Charlie and we are cheering him on to do his best at the Tokyo Olympics beginning this Friday, July 23.
